How to post a new ad
To enter a new ad into the database, first select the post
button in the left hand button bar. Select the appropriate section in the following
green menu to bring up an entry form for the new ad.
Depending on the section you selected this form may look slightly different.
The upper half of the entry form contains the contact information for the ad. Please
fill at least the Postcode and E-mail fields; otherwise an area
search would not be possible. All other fields are optional. If you enter a 'normal'
ad, ALL information entered here will be presented in a search result, otherwise
(in case of an confidential ad) NO info from this section will be displayed, however
the e-mail field is still required for internal use.
- Name contains your complete name (ex. "Heinz M. Mueller" (optional)
- Street contains your postal address including street and number Please do not enter P.O. Boxes here. (optional)
- Postcode Contains at least the first digit of your postcode, better the entire code. This field will accept ONLY digits.
- City contains the name of your city including any additional information (optional)
- Phone contains your phone number in INTERNATIONAL format (ex. +49-555-999999) (optional)
- Fax contains your fax number in INTERNATIONAL format (ex. +49-555-999999) (optional)
- E-Mail contains your email address. (ex. John@doe.com) This field will be displayed as a mailto:
Link in search results, if the ad was not marked 'confidential'.
The lower half of the entry form contains the ad itself. Depending on the section this part
may look slightly different. (e.g. it's not very common to have a 'Price' tag in Heart to Heart)
The following description contains all POSSIBLE fields, not every field may be present in every section.
- Sell/Buy Select whether you are LOOKING for the object or OFFERING it.
- Folder Is the subfolder in which the ad fits best.
- Title contains a short but fitting description of your ad (the 'Headline').
Please do not enter Buy: or Sell: again in here, it will be prepended to the line automatically.
- Description contains the main text of your ad. It's not important to use line breaks in this field,
the system will reformat your input anyway. The maximum possible length for this field is 300 chars, so please be brief.
- Price contains the value of the offered or looked for object. This field only takes digits!
$250,- would be WRONG, 250 or 250.00
would be RIGHT.
- Negotiable set this to YES if you are flexible in regards to the price or to NO if you want exactly this amount of money.
| Tip: There are 2 special combinations of 'Price' and 'Negotiable'.
A Price of '0' without 'negotiable' means i am giving this away, a Price of '0' with
'negotiable' means i have no fixed price in mind, make me an offer. |
- Kind of Ad Is this a commercial or private ad? (at the moment this field is not used)
- Confidential Is this ad confidential (for implications see above)
- Password is used for later maintenance on the ad and is NOT optional.
Shortly after you presseed the Submit button you will get a confirmation page. If the
displayed thext does not meet your expectations or there's a mistake left, you can delete it immediately
from this page and re-enter. This page also contains a link to this maintenance page. If you click on it, you can
bookmark the following page to access your ad quickly form your bookmarks list.
