Searching for Ads
To search the database for info, you have to push the search
button in the left hand selector first. In the secondary green menu
you can select from the available nine sections, which will bring up a form
for entering your search request. Depending on the Section you selected this form will look
slightly different.
- Folder All searches ALL Folders in this section, every other selection seaches only the
respective folder
- Postcode Area is for searching only in certain geographical aras, the first few digits of the postcode will do.
This entry field will only take digits, Canadian postcodes can not be matched at the moment!
- Price limit will limit the upper price range of the products. Only entries with equal or lower price will be displayed.
A limit of 0 means give away. This entry field will only take digits!
- Pattern Only lists entries which contain the search pattern in them. No Wildcards like
'*' or '?' allowed or required!
- Age Selects the maximum age of the entries displayed.
Shortly after pressing the Go Button the search result will be displayed.
If there were any ads they will be sorted by their folders, newer ads are listed at the top.
Every ad has a Contact-Link which will display additional
information regarding the ad. For a 'normal' ad the contact information is displayed alongside
the ad text (for convenient printing). Depending on the information provided this will be
e-mail (always, click for a link) and optionally: address, phone and fax numbers.
If the ad was confidential the contact information is replaced by an entry box which can be used to
send a short message to the originator of the ad.
| Tip: This entry box can take a maximum of 250 Characters,
to keep answers short. It is advised to include your own contact information at the TOP of this box to make
sure it is not truncated. |
